A Personal Journey

My love for television began at six years old at the Elstree Film Studio children’s Christmas party. My father, who worked there, had tragically passed away the day before I was born. That day, under the studio lights and among the magic of a pirate ship set, I knew I had to be a director.

Despite living with dyslexia, I’ve embraced technology to overcome challenges and tell my stories. Computers became my ally, and cameras my voice. Today, I’m passionate about helping others find their voice—whether on stage or behind the scenes.

Jonathan Glazier – TV Format Expert, Director and Executive Producer

Welcome to my story – a journey through decades of being a TV Format Expert, Director and Executive Producer, making groundbreaking television across the globe. My name is Jonathan Glazier, known to many as “JG,” and this is the story of how I became a multi-camera TV director, executive producer, and creative problem solver.

How It All Began

My passion for television was sparked at six years old, during a magical visit to the Elstree Film Studio children’s Christmas party. My father, Peter Glazier, an accomplished art director, had tragically passed away the day before I was born. Despite this, the studio welcomed me into its creative heart. Surrounded by cameras, lights, and an incredible pirate ship set, I was mesmerised. From that moment, I knew I had to be a director.

I grew up watching the films my father worked on, with his storyboards and designs in hand. One of my treasures is the script for the original Moby Dick, starring Gregory Peck, which he worked on as an art director. These early experiences shaped my love for storytelling and the art of television.

Building a Global Career in Television

Today, I’m an executive producer content creator, former Head of BBC Formats and Entertainment, and a multi-camera director with extensive international experience. My career spans the UK, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. Along the way, I’ve directed award-winning shows and worked on major productions, including live and recorded formats.
